Setup client owned Router with Frontier FIOS NVG468MQ Gateway.

Setting up your own Router with NVG468MQ

If there is FIOS triple play, you have to keep the NVG468MQ active.

Alert
If client has no TV or phone service from Frontier you do not need to use the NVG468MQ.
You can just connect your router straight into the ONT and it should work.

Info
Typical setup is like this
NVG468MQ -> FIOS Boxes (Cable TV boxes and phones)
-> Asus Router (This is essentially double NAT (Router behind a router))

First thing you have to do is disable WIFI.

Then you need to setup the Firewall DMZ, Frontier gives WAN IP's via DHCP so we need to share that IP with the Router.
You want to check Enable DMZ.
Select passthrumode as DHCPS-Fixed.
Then to ensure the Router gets the IP, select manual entry and put the MAC Address of the Router's WAN Interface.

Restart the NVG468MQ.: Now if you did everything right your WAN IP will be shared with your Router.

Notes
NOTE: Reboot ALL LAN devices to obtain correct IP from your router

IdeaTroubleshooting Notes/Order of rebooting
1)release IP

2)Immediately unplug arris
3) unplug ONT 60 sec
4) Plug ONT Network Cord into owned Router
5) Turn ONT back on
6) Profit
